Rudimentary transducers

A fully scored and programmed sound sculpture using 60 vibrating motors arranged on a sculptural surface - a grid that hums, shakes, and shudders to life as material, not metaphor.
Saigon Outcast Commissioned by The Kollectif for the sonic fusion exhibition at Saigon Outcast

Actuator-based sound sculpture | 2018 | Duration: 10 minutes

An array of 60 vibrating motors on a sculptural surface, each independently controlled for a precisely timed spatial composition.

Vibration is the compositional material: structure, force, and oscillation are scored and programmed, not left to ambient or aleatoric drift.

Originally proposed for WASP Studios’ Visualising the Sound exhibition.
